Boston Harbor Hotel’s Classic Movie tonight is A Streetcar Named Desire.  Settle in and enjoy a movie and a little travel back in time al fresco tonight.  (Cost: Free plus the cost of food or drink.)

It may take you more than 100 feet to get to Chestnut Hill’s The Street, but however long it takes the journey will be worth it to go see The 100 Foot Journey  at Showcase SuperLux.  I recently previewed the movie and adored it.  I look forward to seeing it at least a few times more, which is rare for me.

The Hundred Foot Journey opens today and SuperLux cinema is offering special menu items to pair with the viewing.  There will be spiked chai mango lassi, a ginger basil mojito, vegetable pakoras, and chai spiced French macarons. (Cost: Price of movie tickets and food varies)

Newport Waterfront Reggae Festival (Cost: $50 )

WaterFire Providence Full lighting begins at 7:55 with the arts festival starting at 6 p.m. (Cost: Suggested Donation of $5)

Speaking of fire head over to Ignite! in Somerville for an evening of fire and food from 6 – 10 p.m. (Cost: Free plus the cost of food.)

Shakespeare on the Common presents Twelfth Night at 7 p.m. on this 10th night of August. (Cost: Free)

Yoga for Kids at deCordova from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m (Cost: $5 per child, Free for accompanying adult.)

WaterFire Providence  Continues select dates through November (Cost: Suggested Donation of $5)

Boston Comic Con (Cost: $20-$120, or people watch for free just outside the Seaport World Trade Center)

The Tanglewood Wine and Food Classic goes into full swing today through the weekend.  Friday’s Elyse wine dinner at Serenak featurig winemaker Ray Coursen is sold out, but there are tickets available for several other great lectures, dinners, and events. (Cost: Price of events varies.)
