Ruby’s Cove, Greenport Long Island: B&B Review

Image

Ruby’s Cove in Greenport Long Island is a quirky, bed and breakfast on Long Island in the town of Greenport. The town itself is perfect for a weekend getaway.  Just a short walk to the beach and an equally short walk into town you can leave your car behind and enjoy time away from home for a bit.  Ruby’s Cove is eccentric, and playful.  Donna is the owner of Ruby’s Cove and in addition to being a gracious host she is like the sorority sister you never had.  If you want to just relax on the porch, she’s got plenty to read from local magazines, to artsy books, or perhaps you’re part way through that novel you started before children.

The B&B has three rooms, that are quite spacious for a B&B.  Two of the rooms have their own bathroom and the third room has a bathroom down the hall.  The fridge is well stocked with anything you might need.  Donna also has a garage full of bikes you can borrow for an early morning bike ride before gathering around the dining room table for her delicious breakfast.

If you’re planning a girls getaway and want someone to entertain you, point out “must try” spots and activities, and want to be close to town, then Ruby’s Cove might be a great choice.  If you’re looking for somewhere a little more modern, are traveling with children, or somewhere to tap into your zen self, you may want to consider some of the other options in the area.  If you want to be well fed, entertained, and have an easy weekend with the girls with Donna at the helm, then Ruby’s Cove is the perfect spot for a fun and fab weekend away.  The view from the porch in Spring is pretty spectacular!  I was a guest at Ruby’s Cove for one night for a recent trip to learn about Long Island’s North Fork Wine Region.  As always, all opinions are my own.
