More Superheroes and Ballerinas: Anna’s Taqueria Has All the Right Stuff

A few weeks ago I posted about my little Superhero and Ballerina with the following thought:

20130809-212519-1Superheroes don’t always wear capes and ballerinas aren’t always found in the dance studio. Anna’s Taqueria has a new kind of celebrity rolling burritos for charity because celebrities go beyond the sports field and silver screen. For several months now, the Brookline location of Anna’s Taqueria has had a celebrity once a month rolling burritos ($10) to raise money for charities such as Lovin’ Spoonfuls, ASPCA, One Fund and more.

September’s Celebrity Roller is our superhero. Dr. Michael Yaffe, M.D., Ph.D. is a professor of Biology and Biological Engineering at MIT and he will be at the MIT location of Anna’s Taqueria on September 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Dr. Yaffe is a cancer researcher and an attending surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Michael Yaffe will be rolling burritos to raise money for the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. I love that I can bring my family in for dinner and show them that celebrities go way beyond VMA drama queens. The real celebrities are putting themselves on the line for our nourishment, our entertainment and a greater good.

October’s Celebrity Roller is our ballerina. Boston Ballet Dancer, Rachel Cossar also happens to be a local food blogger. She knows her way around a menu and is quick on her feet when she’s gliding across the Boston Opera House, but how will she do on the burrito line? Bring your little ballerinas and ballerinos in to the Harvard St., Brookline Taqueria, to see if she’ll be on point! Rachel is rolling for the Boston Ballet.

For $10 you will get a burrito rolled with care by the celebrity roller, chips and salsa, and the satisfaction of knowing you’re supporting an organization that is close to their hearts.
