Today’s smoothie is a bright green and it is a thick, naturally sweet, dairy-free treat. The Monday Morning Zinger gets it’s zing from Kale more than ginger because the fruit mellows the ginger nicely.

I took three big leaves of curly kale from our CSA, which is Lindentree CSA an organic farm share from a farm in Lincoln, MA, and at the base of the stall I gently pinched and slid my fingers to the tip of the stalk to pull the leaf off the stem. I’ll sautéed the stems later at lunch or dinner.
I peeled and sliced the ginger. I cored and pitted the fruit and threw it l in a blender.
I added some water and a packet of vitamin C (EmergenC) and blended away .
