Great Wolf Lodge: Family Adventure in New England

I have to admit that I’m more of the “cabin in the woods with bears” type of person, but my husband is more of a “Wolf in a costume, hotel room beds and amenities” kind of person.  I first heard about Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) when I was looking into places for a family reunion in Pennsylvania a few years ago.  Since we didn’t end up going, and there weren’t any around here it was off my radar for while, but then the howls began.  I heard people making mention of a New England Great Wolf Lodge and the excitement among those in the know (who had been to a GWL before) was growing.

Great Wolf Lodge New England was finally opening, so we grabbed our bags and decided to join the wolf pack for a day.

Last week, I was invited to spend a night and explore Great Wolf Lodge New England as part of their Grand Opening Celebration.  Pictures definitely speak louder than words in this case, because then you can see for yourself what it’s all about.  Some of the rides are so fast it was hard to capture on “film”, but I tried my best.  I was most impressed with the water play areas, the methodical attentiveness of the lifeguards, how clean the spaces were kept, the ropes course (which is unique to GWL New England), the friendliness of the staff, and, because I was pleasantly surprised, the quality of the food.

Great Wolf Lodge New England is a nice drive up Route 2.  It is about an hour from Cambridge.  Book by July 4th for 30% with the code GRAND. Details here.

I can imagine! I’d send them on their happy way, grab a book and a coffee and find somewhere in the lobby to kick back and relax.
