Feeling Watched in the Kitchen: Halloween Treat

I was inspired by the football shaped pretzels at the store to make some Halloween eyes.  You just need a few ingredients and a little patience to get started but its a fun quick afternoon activity to do with the kids.

Ingredients

  • candy melt
  • football shaped pretzel
  • chocolate rosettes or chocolate chips
  • mint green chocolate chips (I used Guittard’s bought at Wilson Farms)
  • get creative with eye ball options (non-pareils, sprinkles, etc)
  • a wooden skewer or chopstick
  • waxed paper and a cooling rack

  1. Melt the candy coating in the microwave or follow any other packaging directions to prepare the candy coating.
  2. With your skewer or chopstick coat the pretzel with the candy coating and allow the excess to drip off.
  3. Put the pretzel on the cooling rack and place a chocolate chip as an eyeball. If you have different sized chips you can layer them.
  4. Allow to harden and then serve in pairs.
