Pie Glorious Pie: Enjoy a slice or 3.14 today

If you’re hungry for knowledge, then head over to the Harvard Book Store to browse their Pi display.  MIT also has the non-edible side of Pi day planned for you.  Once you’ve worked up an appetite, then you can grab a slice of pie at one of our favourite places for pie.

Petsi Pies

Petsi Pies is our family’s favourite.  I love the pecan pie.  My daughter dreams of the sour cherry crumble pie.  Petsi Pies just opened up a third location: 441 Cambridge street, Cambridge, Ma 02141 Phone: (617) 945-5278 Open 7am-3pm – everyday.

Beacon Hill Bistro

If you hurry you can grab a slice of pie at Beacon Hill Bistro this morning (until 10 a.m.) for $3.14     Stop in after school for a little Friday Pi Day treat.  From 11:30 to 3:00 you can enjoy a slice of pie for $3.14.

Farmers To You

Farmer’s To You has this amazing pie they bring in from Vermont (where they bring all their food in from).  It is an apple pie with a buttery, not too sweet crust. It is made by Champlain Orchards: orchard to table.

Hi Rise Bakery

If you want a lemon meringue pie that is sky high and exploding with lemony tanginess then you have to get the Hi Rise lemon meringue pie.  They sell it in two sizes.  The large pie is a standard 8 inch maybe 9 inch pie.  The little one is small enough to share with a friend if that friend is feeling generous otherwise you might each need your own.

If you’ve given up sweets for lent then perhaps you can satisfy your pie cravings with a smoothie or two.  Try a Pumpkin Pie Green Smoothie or an Apple Pie Smoothie.

If a smoothie is not your thing, don’t worry you can still indulge.  KO Pies at the Shipyard / KO Catering and Pies will take care of you.  They’ve got: classic beef pie, classic beef with cheese pie, Irish beef stew pie, curried vegetable pie, braised lamb shank pie and this month’s special pie is Braised Beef, Caramelized Onion and Blue Cheese.

Whether you eat a slice or 3.14 slices, get out there and taste some of the pies your neighbourhood has to offer.
